#AC38 - First benchmarks, first sensations, first connections. A strong opening day for La Roche-Posay Racing Team.

Quentin Delapierre and his teammates completed their very first sail together today aboard the AC40 — a key milestone in the team’s journey toward the 38th America’s Cup, with the opening regatta set for late May in Cagliari.

In Lorient, the conditions felt picture-perfect: clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight, and a steady easterly breeze of around 15 knots that elevated every moment on the water.

Philippe Presti, Sport Director of La Roche-Posay Racing Team:
"Conditions in Brittany were exceptional today — bright sunshine, cloudless skies, almost summer-like warmth, and a perfect easterly breeze. Simply stunning. We came back in at sunset around 7:30 pm after nearly four and a half hours on the water. The day was structured around crew rotations, giving everyone the chance to experience the AC40. The newcomers got their first feel, while the more experienced sailors shared their insights and key learnings. An excellent first day. We’re hoping to build on this momentum tomorrow, with similar conditions forecast, before a short break this weekend and then a 15-day training block."

Back at the dock this evening, the mood said it all: wide smiles and a clear eagerness to get back out there.

The work has begun — and it’s off to a strong start.
