Yacht Racing Forum, an inspiring introduction by our CEO, Bruno Dubois, ahead of two days of discussions at the heart of the future of sailing.
Bruno Dubois, Team Manager of SailGP France, opened the Yacht Racing Forum in Amsterdam, one of the most influential gatherings in the professional sailing industry, with a powerful and committed speech.
The YRF is a unique place where leaders, athletes, engineers, organizers, and business players come together to share their vision and shape the future of our sport.
As Bruno summed up a few weeks ago, "I believe that the Yacht Racing Forum is the ideal place for players in our industry to share their vision of what the world of sailing is and should be. It is often at the YRF that major initiatives on courses and fairness are born. The technical part of the Forum is THE place to discover new advances and meet the people behind these innovations.“
In his opening speech, he reflected on his own journey from ”outsider" to leader in high-level sailing, before delivering a key message: we will only advance this sport if we create an environment where everyone can truly belong, not just be tolerated.
To illustrate this point, he invited Liv MacKay, strategist for Black Foils, the New Zealand SailGP team, to share her experience and the challenges that female athletes still face today. It was a powerful and necessary moment.
An inspiring start to two days of discussions at the heart of the future of sailing.
At SailGP France, we are proud to contribute to this dynamic and to promote a more innovative, more demanding, and more open sport.
