The curtain falls on the first edition of the Women's America's Cup for the French women’s team. The results on the water were not those they had really hoped for. “We did not manage to capitalise on the work we had put into the training or find the rhythm we had worked on this summer. Thanks to my teammates Audrey, Aloïse, Amélie, and Pauline. Now, we need to process all this and analyse our races!” Explains Manon Audinet, skipper of Orient Express L’Oréal Racing Team, upon her return to shore, her eyes red with disappointment, while also acknowledging, “the incredible opportunity we all had this year. We were supported by fantastic partners who believed in us: Orient Express and L’Oréal, but also Nextworld, ENVSN, Team France, the FFVoile, and of course the entire K-Challenge team. We have been a team for a year, but we really only started sailing on the AC40 in June. It’s been a fast-track learning experience on high-speed foiling boats, for 60 women across 12 teams. This opportunity might pave the way for greater gender diversity within sailing teams and the America’s Cup. That’s the key takeaway!”
