YAC: "We just want to go racing"

The second day of racing at the UniCredit Youth America's Cup, and the same scenario for the young sailors on Orient Express - L'Oréal Racing Team — unable to take part in either of today's two races.

And again the reason was a series of technical faults, which the French team were powerless to solve as they play no part in the maintenance of their AC40.

Skipper Enzo Balanger explains: "First we broke the J1, and then we had an issue with a pump which meant we could not move the boards and so could not sail properly.

"When the tech team told us we could not race we were disappointed, but now our focus is to prepare for the races on Friday. We still have four races to do. We're all pulling together on board. We're not going to give up. Qualifying is still up for grabs."

And he added: "It is frustrating because we have worked hard for months and we just want to race against the other teams on the water. We have been pretty competitive training and all summer and then won the practice race."

At the half way point of the eight race UniCredit Youth America's Cup Qualifying Series, Orient Express - L'Oréal Racing Team is tied in fourth place with the Emirates Team New Zealand youth team both with 16 points.
