Who is participating?
Having won the 36th edition Emirates Team New Zealand, representing the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, is the America’s Cup Defender.
The British team INEOS Britannia is the Challenger of Record*.
*Challenger of Record is the title given to the first yacht club to challenge the America's Cup holder once it has been won. Together, the Defender and Challenger of Record set the rules for the competition.
The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron received and accepted a challenge for the 37th America's Cup from the Royal Yacht Squadron Ltd (RYSR), represented by Sir Ben Ainslie's INEOS Britannia team. The RYSR is associated with the Royal Yacht Squadron, the first yacht club to organise this event in 1851, 172 years ago.

- Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, Il Circolo Vela Sicilia (Italy)
- NYYC American Magic, New York Yacht Club (USA)
- Orient Express Racing Team, Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez (France).
Where and when?
The 37th America's Cup will take place in Barcelona, capital of Spain's Catalonia region.
The official Opening Ceremony will be held in Barcelona on 22 August 2024.
The Challenger Selection Series will be held between that date and the end of September 2024.
The America's Cup Match between the winning Challenger and the Defender Team New Zealand will start on October 12, 2024.
